The process of designing bespoke fitted furniture can sometimes
be lengthy, not only because of the wide choice of styles,
materials and colours but also the finishing touches required, and
at the end of the day these are what produce the overall appearance
of the furniture.
Your choice of hardware –
the handles, knobs and other accessories – can be very important.
Naturally this is a question of personal preference and taste, and
you can choose within a huge range of ironmongery including
Cabinet Hardware Knobs at
IronmongeryDirect.co.uk the Ironmongery Direct website.
The general stages
of the process are outlined below:
1) A site visit is
usually required. Measurements and client instructions are
taken.
2) An initial sketch with
information about the style, finish and the relevant estimate is
submitted.
3) Once the work is
approved, a deposit will be requested so that the job can be
processed.
4) A series of drawings
might need to be submitted before a satisfactory solution is
reached.
Additional site visits
might be required to discuss various details or for sample
viewing.
5) The choice of layout,
finish and hardware should now be defined. Alterations might still
be
requested at this stage
and we shall advise on any cost impact.
6) The final drawing and
specifications are submitted for approval and the order is
scheduled.
7) Prior to completion of
the preparation work in our workshop, we shall advise on fitting
dates.
8) The fitting work
begins: according to the nature of the work involved, part of the
components
might be already
pre-assembled or might require to be assembled on site. The finish
is usually
applied in the workshop
but there are instances in which the all or some of the
components
might require to be
decorated on site.
9) Upon satisfactory
completion of each requested item, we shall issue an invoice and
any
outstanding balance will
be due for payment.
